Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce is coming to an end after its fifth season.
And while Lisa Edelstein is sad to leave the show behind, she is hugely grateful for everything it has done for her - and promises the final two seasons will "satisfy" fans.
"We finished shooting already. We shot seasons three, four and five all at once. So it's kind of nice that it has yet to air, because we're still in it even though we have let it go," she told LAGoss.com at the Outfest closing night gala.
"It was the greatest experience ever in my life, I can't say enough about it. And knowing that a show is going to end is actually a really wonderful thing, because the writers get to write a complete story, and you sort of get to go out in glory."
Lisa added: "You get to satisfy your fans, satisfy yourselves, not work a show until it's old and tired and wanting to die. And so it was an incredible experience top to bottom."
The actress revealed the show has opened lots of doors for her, and she is getting behind the camera for her next projects.
"I wrote and am directing and producing a short film, and then I'm developing a TV show for UCP (Universal Cable Productions)," she shared.
"I've got a lot of stuff going on, but in a really cool way, and that's what Girlfriends' Guide did for me. It put me in a position of being able to develop and I got to write, I got to direct - I got to grow up."
Closing the chapter: Lisa Edelstein chatted to LAGoss.com about Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce coming to an end | Bravo
Lisa was at Outfest to support the movie Freak Show, based on the novel of the same name by her close friend James St. James.
The duo were both club kids in New York and have been friends ever since, and Lisa told us they got ready at her house together before hitting the red carpet.
"It's really exciting to see this success for him," she said of James. "I love it, and I feel like we finally became the people we talked about being when we were stupid and young.
"It's really a very satisfying experience, when you can look at somebody that you really started off in the grownup world with, and just knowing that we have actually become the people that we hoped to be."
Lisa added with a laugh: "We had crazy journeys, we made tons of mistakes, we certainly did a lot to make ourselves more interesting. But we got here, and it's really exciting."
